With the senior population in Forsyth County projected to increase by 100% between the years 2000 and 2030, it is necessary that Senior Services position itself to reach more seniors in need. The success of many of Senior Services' programs depends on the help of community volunteers, and the importance of volunteers will only grow as the organization works to meet the growing needs of our elderly. That is why WE NEED YOU!
relies on more than 1,700 community volunteers to deliver meals to homebound seniors in need of food. This year’s successful campaign to recruit 100 new volunteers in 100 days met, for the short term—and only
for the short term—the demand for new volunteers to refill the ranks when volunteers retire. With 1,243 seniors depending on the meal-delivery service each day, it is vital for the program to maintain a volunteer corps equal to the task of delivering these meals each weekday, all year round.

As we strive to meet the needs of the ever-growing senior population of Forsyth County, we will occasionally have tasks that require more hands on deck than we can spare from our daily duties. While we may have advance notice on most, some occur quite suddenly. These projects include such things as bulk mailings, filing, returning phone calls, data entry, IT support, and shredding to name a few.
If you are interested in helping when needs arise, please fill out the volunteer application
to be added to our volunteer “on-call” list. We appreciate your interest in Senior Services and our mission to assist the seniors in our community.
