North Carolina Senior Games began in 1983 to create a year-round health promotion and education program for adults beginning 50 years of age or better. The Piedmont Plus Senior Games and SilverArts are hosted by the City of Winston-Salem, Recreation and Parks Department and are open to residents of Forsyth and Stokes counties.

Piedmont Plus Senior Games Performance Arts competition will be held on April 28 at Arbor Acres. Brent Campbell will MC. Competition will include all styles of dance, music, and more, all performed by seniors over the age of 50. Winners will compete in the State games in September.

Based on the Tai Chi for Arthritis program, Tai Chi for Falls Prevention (TCFP) is shown to prevent falls, improve balance and overall health, and reduce pain. TCFP consists of a series of gently movements than can be done standing or seated, and is suitable for people of any fitness level.
