Dr. Susan Whitfield is the former director of the International Dunhuang Project and lead curator of Central Asian manuscripts at the British Library.  The International Dunhuang Project is a collaborative effort to conserve and digitally catalog artifacts from Silk Road sites. Dr. Whitfield’s newest book, Silk, Slaves, and Stupas: Material Culture of the Silk Road explores the interaction of material goods, people, and cultures on the Silk Roads.  Grab a coffee at Footnote and join Dr. Whitfield for a fascinating socio-historic lecture and discussion!
