Kate Moore, author of The Radium Girls in conversation with Megan E. Bryant, author of Glow
Tuesday, March 13 at 7 p.m.
Salem Fine Arts Center, Salem College
In 1926, radium was a miracle cure and “luminous” watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, The Radium Girls by Kate Moore traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Megan E. Bryant’s book Glow is a young adult novel that also sheds light on this dark time in history. Bryant and Moore will talk their books and research.
