A Dickens of a Year
Sunday, December 17 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m.
Bookmarks, 634 West Fourth Street #110, Winston-Salem, NC
Bookmarks invites the community to join us as we celebrate the end of our thirteenth year with extended hours and programming, which will culminate with a dramatic reading of The Further Adventures of Ebenezer Scrooge, written by Charlie Lovett, former Bookmarks Board President and New York Times bestselling author (A Bookman’s Tale, The Lost Book of the Grail) at 6:30 pm. The book is a delightful sequel to Dickens’s beloved A Christmas Carol, set 20 years after Scrooge was famously converted to kindness by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
Throughout the day, there will be a Silent Auction and Raffle which will include items donated by friends of Bookmarks and local businesses. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $2 each or 3 for $5 from Bookmarks on Sunday any time between noon and 6:30 p.m. Both the silent auction and the raffle will end immediately prior to the dramatic reading. All winners will be announced following the reading at approximately 7:30 p.m. You do not need to be present to win. All proceeds benefit Bookmarks and its mission.
