Kelly Family, Leaving a Legacy

To Honor Sally and Help Seniors in Our Community

Blog |

Dr. David Kelly and family established a new permanent fund at the Senior Services Foundation – the Dr. and Mrs. David L. Kelly, Jr. Fund in memory of Sarah (Sally) Brooks Pullen Kelly.  Sally Kelly died in December 2014 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.  We asked Dr. Kelly to tell us a little bit about his late wife.  Here is what he wrote:

“Sally was a true Winston-Salemite – born at Baptist Hospital, attended Summit School, Wiley and R.J. Reynolds High School.  Sally graduated from Woman’s College and subsequently taught at Moore School.  She lived in Winston-Salem for over 50 years.

She was a notable member of the community, having participated in countless community activities and programs. Although Sally was interested in and participated in many non-profits and charities,

Dr. and Mrs. David Kelly, Jr.

she always felt that Senior Services rendered
the most personalized and valuable care
to those in need.

She had a long-standing close relationship with the Tab Williams family. With our aging population, it was obvious to Sally that Senior Services would need increasing resources to respond to challenges and to develop new programs. “

Senior Services is honored to administer this new permanent fund. If you would like to make a contribution to Senior Services, visit seniorservicesinc.org or call Patty Mead at 336-725-0907.
