Many people have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine. When can I get the vaccine? How do I schedule an appointment to get it? Where do I go to be vaccinated? Is the vaccine safe?
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services wants to keep members of the community informed and has created a webpage containing updated information about the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. We encourage you to visit and stay informed.
Everyone Above the Age of 12 is Now Eligible to Receive a COVID-19 Vaccination!
Four ways to schedule your vaccine if you are in an eligible group:
1. If you are affiliated with Novant Health you should be able to log in to your MyChart account to schedule a vaccine right away. If you are not a current Novant patient, you can create a MyChart account to get scheduled. Anyone needing assistance making an appointment can call 1-855-648-2248. Visit here for more information about Novant Health’s vaccination process.
Vaccination Location: Former Sears Auto Center (190 Hanes Mall Circle) and various community clinics throughout the County.
2. If you are 65 years of age or older and affiliated with Wake Forest Baptist Health, you can call 336-70-COVID to schedule an appointment to receive your shot. You can also schedule online through your My Wake Health account. Visit here for more information about Wake Forest Baptist Health’s vaccination process.
3. You can now schedule a vaccine appointment through select Walgreens in North Carolina. Visit here for more information or to create your Walgreens account for scheduling.
4. If you plan to receive your vaccine through the Public Health Department (open to anyone regardless of health system affiliation) you can schedule an appointment online or by calling 336-582-0800. Appointment times are limited and determined by vaccine supplies. If appointments are full, please continue to check back online. Those calling to make an appointment should wait for their return phone call from the Health Department.
Vaccination Location: Forsyth County Department of Public Health (799 N. Highland Avenue) and various community events around the County.
As more vaccines flow to our community, drive-thru clinics and additional appointment slots are planned to help distribute the vaccine more quickly.
Remember, regardless of whether you have been vaccinated or not, EVERYONE should continue to practice the 3W’s:
- Wait six feet apart
- Wash your hands often
- Wear a mask
This will continue to help prevent the spread and keep everyone safe!
Senior Services will continue to update this space as more information becomes available.
