Q: I am an older adult on a fixed income and would like to have a computer to use for emailing and connecting with friends and family. Is there anywhere to get a low-cost computer?
A: Goodwill’s RECONNECT program, in partnership with Dell, offers a free and easy way for residents to recycle electronics responsibly.  Used computer equipment (any brand, in any condition) is accepted for free. As a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher, Goodwill sells used laptops and desktops at eight stores in northwest N.C. (Asheville, Elkin, Kannapolis, Lexington, Winston-Salem and Conover). Units start at under $100 and include Microsoft Windows 7 or 8 and Microsoft Home and Student 2007.
