Making a Difference During Difficult Times!

Volunteers help find a Way!

Postings |

Though the last 18 months have been difficult for many older adults in our community, Senior Services volunteers have continued to share their time and provide support to help us provide much needed assistance to the older adults we serve in Forsyth County.  It warms the heart of every staff member to see the commitment of volunteers as they give so much of themselves to ensure the wellbeing of seniors. Volunteers add joy and stability to the lives of so many seniors by delivering hot meals and warm smiles each weekday; providing technology training to help keep participants connected; engaging participants with crafts, music, games and serving lunch at the Williams Adult Day Center; assisting with administrative duties in the areas of technology, data entry, making calls, or attending the switchboard to assist in keeping our organization running smoothly; and much, much more!  No matter the task or challenge, they step up to meet it and their efforts are truly appreciated.

The positive impact that volunteers have on Senior Services and more importantly, the seniors we serve is invaluable and lasting. We invite you to view our 2020-21 volunteer impact flyer which captures a snapshot of the role Senior Services volunteers played in the lives of older adults in Forsyth County.

As the needs of seniors in our community continue to grow, so does the need for caring individuals to help ensure they can remain at home aging with dignity and living with purpose.. If you or someone you know would like to join our volunteer family please email Britnee Tellez, volunteer and community engagement manager, or call 336-721-3411. Thank you!
