Award-winning novelist, historian, and documentary filmmaker Elizabeth Cobbs will discuss her new book The Tubman Command, about the bravery and brilliance of American icon Harriett Tubman. Like Cobbs’ The Hamilton Affair, The Tubman Command is an impeccably-researched work of historical fiction. Elizabeth will be in conversation with James Shields, Director of the Bonner Center for Community Service and Learning at Guilford College. Shields is a part of “Pathway to Freedom”, an outdoor drama about the Underground Railroad highlighting the active abolitionist community of Greensboro. Q&A and booksigning to follow. Free and open to the public.
