Groves Brings Passion for Helping Seniors to Her New Role

Senior Services is pleased to announce that Leigh Anne Groves has recently come on board as its new Chief Development Officer.  She has spent most of her career in the fundraising, public relations and marketing fields, having filled these roles with several area continuing care retirement communities over the years.  As a development officer and platform leader at Wake Forest Baptist Health, Leigh Anne raised philanthropic support for its $400 million capital campaign and led fundraising efforts for both the WFBH Cancer Center and the Sticht Center on Aging.  Immediately prior to joining Senior Services, Groves was Associate Director of the United Way Foundation and a Division Director in Resource Development.

Leigh Anne describes her new position as her “dream job,” as it gives her an opportunity to apply her experience and many skills to improving the lives of older adults, for whom, both collectively and individually, she holds great regard and affection. “My love and respect for seniors in this community inspire me to build strong relationships that will generate meaningful outcomes for the benefit of elders. I’m looking forward to helping this wonderful organization change lives for the better,” she said.

Her career could have had a completely different look, had she accepted the position offered her by CNN following her graduation from Wake Forest University.  We are so glad it took a different turn and led her here.  A former employer, in fact, told her, “I believe you’ve found your calling.  Your passion for older adults is evidenced in everything you do!”

In addition to her fundraising and leadership skills, Leigh Anne brings many other skills, talents and accomplishments with her to Senior Services.  She is a community volunteer; a musician who composes, sings and plays the piano; an artist and designer and a fitness and wellness coach.  And that’s just scratching the surface!

Please join us in welcoming Leigh Anne to the Senior Services family.
