Gottlieb Receives “Order of the Long Leaf Pine” Honor at Celebration

(Winston-Salem, NC) – More than 350 people came together to celebrate and honor Richard Gottlieb’s 35 year career   as president and CEO of Senior Services.  During the event, former state senator, Linda Garrou announced that Gottlieb will be the first person to receive the Order of the Long Leaf Pine from recently elected Governor Roy Cooper. The award is the highest honor reserved for those who have made significant contributions to the state and their communities through their exemplary service and exceptional accomplishments.

Board members Sandra Adams and John Burress were also on hand to provide remarks which reminded the audience of the significant strides Senior Services has taken over the years with Richard at the helm.  “He’s the most unselfish guy I know. He takes credit for nothing. He knows how to distribute it – to the group and other individuals” said Burress of Gottlieb’s leadership

Lee Covington who has been at the organization for 18 months in the chief operating role has been appointed the organization’s president and CEO.
