It’s that time of year again! It’s ready, set, GO for Senior Services’ annual Christmas in July drive!
Individuals, faith groups, businesses and civic groups are invited to donate items on the Christmas in July wish list, which appears at the bottom of the page. The list includes canned goods and shelf-stable food items like cereal, canned fruit and vegetables, and soup. It also includes household helps, such as paper towels and laundry detergent, and personal care items like deodorant, mouthwash and adult diapers.
Keep a lookout for those big red collection boxes, where you can drop off your wish list items between June 25 and July 31. You’ll find them at the Forsyth County branch offices of Piedmont Federal Savings Bank, corporate partner with Senior Services for the Christmas in July campaign, and at Senior Services, 2895 Shorefair Drive.
Even though July is several weeks away, don’t wait until then to organize your collection drives or start your shopping. Here is a downloadable wish list, which you can print out and keep with you as you gather the items that so many of our program participants will be thrilled to receive and will save them from having to make that difficult choice between food or other basic necessities and the utility bill or doctor’s office co-pay.
Please catch the holiday spirit and remember our community’s elderly in need.. Your kindness will let our seniors know that someone is thinking of them and someone cares.
