I have to enroll in Elder Care Choices to use this benefit? No, this is a benefit
provided automatically by your employer. How can Elder Care
Choices help me? When you call Elder Care
Choices, a counselor will listen to your concerns, answer your questions and
suggest appropriate services. After
your conversation, the counselor will research specific resources that meet your
loved one’s needs. Detailed
written information about these specific resources will be mailed to you within
one to three days, depending on where the older adult lives.
Will anyone know that
I called Elder Care Choices? No.
The counselor keeps all calls confidential. Can my spouse use this
benefit for his or her family? Yes. Elder Care Choices
is open to all employees of your company and their spouses. Does the older person
need to live in North Carolina? No. Elder Care Choices
can help you find services for an older adult who lives anywhere in the United
States. Does the older person
have to be my parent? No.
The service can be used for any older adults for whom you provide care.
Is there a limit on
how many times that I may call Elder Care Choices? No.
You may call our counselors as many times as necessary. You
may also call about as many different older relatives for whom you or your
spouse are providing care. Will I be charged for
using Elder Care Choices? No.
There is no cost to you for calling Elder Care Choices.
This is a benefit provided by your employer.
You are responsible for any fees that may be charged for services you
obtain to help an older adult.
