Are You a Caregiver?
Consider this...

Are you providing continuous or frequent help to someone who is:

    - Older?
    - Physically or mentally disabled?
    - Experiencing chronic or progressive
      health issues?
    - Having difficulty with household or personal management?

Do you perform any of the following activities:

    - Take meals daily to a person who is shut-in?
    - Check on anyone regularly?
    - Provide transportation for an elder?
    - Provide someone with around-the-clock personal care and supervision?
    - Assist with daily activities like dressing, bathing, etc.?

If you answered "yes" to one or more of the above questions, you're a caregiver!

And if you are a caregiver, you may find that the demands of the job are leaving you exhausted — or at risk of becoming exhausted. If this is the case, you are in need of respite from giving care.
For you, the caregiver, remember to:
  • Make time for yourself each day (even 30 minutes can make a difference)
  • Set aside a specific time and keep it for yourself
  • Make sure you spend that time doing something you enjoy, not just another chore or "ought to"
