The Senior Lunch program operates four nutrition sites throughout Forsyth County. The meals provide nourishment for the body, and the socialization provides nourishment for the soul.
Services Provided
Senior Lunch provides nutritious meals and exciting activities and programs for seniors in a group setting. At each nutrition site, older adults enjoy arts and crafts, playing bingo, exercising, singing and having fun.
Guest speakers provide the seniors with educational information on a variety of topics, including health, nutrition, home safety and senior fraud.
Occasional health screenings are also available. A site manager and community volunteers lead the activities and serve the lunch. The meals are prepared by a local caterer.
Eligibility
The Senior Lunch program serves Forsyth County residents over the age of 60 who are interested in staying healthy, learning new information and skills, making new friends and having fun.
