We had a very successful Christmas in July appeal and can now provide our low-income homebound seniors, at least for the time being, with the healthcare and personal care items that had been in short supply. Thank you to all who participated by generously contributing those needed provisions!
For the rest of the summer and into the fall, our wish list will center on non-perishable food items. Grocery bags filled with shelf-stable foods are being used to supplement Meals-on-Wheels' hot- and frozen-meal deliveries for some individuals, and as fast as we fill grocery bags and get them out to clients, there are more grocery bags that need filling. Donations of items like those in the following list would be greatly appreciated:
Pantry Staples
Small canned hams
Canned chicken
Canned tuna or salmon
Peanut butter
Crackers
Canned fruit or fruit cups
Cereal
Nutrition supplements like Boost and Ensure
Thank you for considering helping us fill those eagerly awaited grocery bags! Senior Services will gladly provide donors with a letter of acknowledgment for tax purposes.
