Senior Services, Inc., a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization, has been operating in Winston-Salem since 1974. Our mission is to help older adults remain at home as long as possible and to live with dignity.
Senior Services currently has seven major programs that respond to the needs of the elderly:
- The Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center
- Help Line
- Home Care
- Senior Lunch
- Elder Care Choices
With Forsyth County's elderly population expected to double over the next 25 years and already-existing waiting lists, Senior Services is striving to meet the growing demand for services. In this regard the organization opened the state-of-the-art Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center in 2000 and the innovative Senior Services Center on the corner of Deacon Boulevard and Shorefair Drive in early 2006.
Senior Services' vision is to be a national model of service provision and volunteerism, as well as a valuable resource for all in the community. The agency's programs have the support of more than 2,000 community volunteers, and combined management and fundraising costs over the past decade average a remarkable 9% of total expenses, with 91% going to direct services for older adults.
